F.A.Q.'S

What time do you open?

We open at 10 a.m. and close at 6 p.m

(Activities will close at 5.45 p.m. to allow time to collect belongings (and children!)

How do I get to aMaizin!, La Hougue Farm?

Click here for directions and map. Alternatively you can catch the Red Explorer network, take a Connex bus from the bus depot, or cycle as we have plenty of room on site for bicycles. We are not currently on any coach tour links.

How safe is the attraction?

We have strict safety protocols in place and the safety of our customers is paramount. Our safety record endorses this policy.

We do not supervise the Adventure Park and the onus is on parental responsibility. Please keep a careful eye on your children when they are in the facility. Whilst we endeavour to provide a safe environment children will be children and inevitably collisions and scrapes do occur. This can be minimised by the watchful eye of the accompanying adult. Please follow the safety procedures they are implemented to ensure the maximum safety of your child

Is the maze suitable for buggies?

The Adventure Park and Barnyard are fine for buggies and pushchairs. The Adventure Park which opens at the beginning of April is generally fine as thousands of feet of all different sizes trample and harden the paths during the season. Please remember the maze (from 01st July) is grown in a field so there will be some lumps and bumps that we have missed with the roller so a lightweight buggy would be best. Click here to see Maze pictures.

My children are various ages, is there something for everyone?

We are primarily a family attraction and that is what we do best. People who enjoy walking and Jersey countryside do enjoy our facility whatever the age. Children definitely love aMaizin! and want to return time and time again! Go-karts, water pistol range and Crazy Golf are some of our most popular attractions and all are suitable for adults. Each year sees exciting changes and updates, many ideas are taken from the input of our customers!

Are dogs allowed at aMaizin!

Well behaved dogs that are kept on a lead and well behaved owners who pick up any mess are welcome in the Park. Please do not allow dogs near the sandpits or barnyard. The dog remains the responsibility of the owner or guardian at all times and La Hougue Farms will not accept any responsibility for any injuries caused. Please ask our staff for water for your dog if you are leaving it in the car, or alternatively ask us to point out a shaded area.

Do you have disabled facilities?

We have always been popular with various disabled groups due to the space and diversity of our attraction. We are currently running a disabled initiative and various play equipment has been sponsored by local companies. We have also added two disabled toilets, one in the "Snack Shack" and one in aMaizin! Craft. Our customers have commented that it is a safe environment and disabled friendly. However, please remember that the attraction is based in a field. Whilst we make every effort to ensure that there is continued disabled access, during wetter times the conditions may not be suitable for wheelchair access. We have also added some specific disabled parking spaces this year. Please call the office on T.01534 482116 for updated information.

Do you have nearby parking?

Yes. We can park hundreds of cars on site - free of charge. As our popularity continues to grow, we often find ourselves using the overflow car park and therefore a third car-park will be available this year for our customers.

Why are picnics not allowed in the maze or the Adventure Park?

There are many reasons and none of them are financial. We have a picnic area just outside the maze above the car-park. This is a lovely grassed area overlooking our reservoir and customers are welcome to use this site. No barbeques please.

Jersey can have a problem with seagulls in areas where food is served and we often see larger birds scouting the site. Our policy of keeping the food area immaculate has ensured that aMaizin! is seagull free. As we are a countryside attraction we can also suffer with wasps. Since introducing this picnic policy our flying insect problem has almost disappeared. We apologise for any inconvenience but moving the picnics has had a beneficial impact on your safety from flying hazards!

What other facilities do you have?

We have a great shop in our entrance area with lots of inexpensive goodies. Sourced from all over the world our stock is fairly diverse!

Our "Snack Shack" has been very popular and will continue to serve inexpensive light meals, sandwiches and snacks. This area is also being upgraded to allow us to offer you a wider variety and selection.

How long should I allow for my visit?

Some our customers pop in on the way to the airport and others spend all day with us. Please allow plenty of time to enjoy all the facilities.

Why couldn’t I find you on the internet, in the phonebook?

We have found a number of variations in the spelling of our attraction: Amazing Maze, Amazin Maze, Amaizing Maze, aMaizing Maize, and Amazing Maze... but we are all the same – promise!

Why is Jersey Falconry not providing falcon and parrot shows?

Due to family commitments, Richard the falconer decided not to continue with showing his birds from 2005

My son is 14 can he come into the maze without an adult?

Unfortunately not. Our minimum age is 16. Children and adolescents are only allowed entrance with a responsible adult. Due to the nature of our attraction and the onus on parental responsibility, this restriction is strictly adhered to for the safety of our younger guests.

Why do you operate a non smoking policy in an outdoor attraction?

Although a lot of the activities are outside we have a number of fire risks. The maze itself and chippings that are used as a "soft fall" area. We have also had incidences where children running around barefoot have stepped on partially lit cigarette ends. We do offer a smoking area just ouside the entrance.

I have lost a camera at the park, how do I contact Lost Property?

Visitors to the island are often surprised with the honesty of our customers. We have found cameras, ipods, purses, jewellery and located these goods with their owners. Items left at the Park are collected every evening and placed in Lost Property. In the event we have found a phone or purse we will try and locate the owners. Please email us at enquiries@jerseyleisure.com to check if we have found missing items. Occasionally, items are returned later as they have been taken in error, we therefore check our list regularly to try and locate owners of items. At the end of the season all remaining lost property is washed (if appropriate!) and given to charity.

Please check back regularly for an update.
