aMaizin! Maze - Whatever the weather!

aMaizin! Have released their 2007 aerial photograph of aMaizin! Maze. Once again the attraction is recording record visitors despite the height of the maze this year which is the shortest on record. The weather this year has certainly been difficult but Jersey is fairing better than most of the British Isles and enjoying sun and warm temperatures.

"It is strange to be able to see bobbing heads through the maze" laughed Carlton. "Normally the maze would be about seven foot high now, but lower temperatures and higher than average rainfall has seen a slower growth rate."

Kristina agreed, "the feedback we have been getting is that the maze is definitely more frustrating as customers can speak to someone ten feet away but have no idea how to reach them, this might be why we are seeing more team-building enquiries!"

The Jersey Heritage Trust and aMaizin! Maze have formed a partnership for the 2007 season to celebrate the rich diversity of Jersey’s heritage.

The Maze at La Hougue Farm in St Peter has been formed in the shape of a map of the Island featuring ten historical sites including Mont Orgueil, Elizabeth and GrosnezCastles, La Hougue Bie, Hamptonne, CorbièreRadioTower and dolmens. Early indications are that the cross promotion that is accompanying the maze and scavenger hunt, is proving popular with customers and both attractions are showing strong growth.

The title of the Maze is Time Trek and those who weave their way through the stalks of maize will become Time Travellers as they follow a heritage quest to complete the puzzle. The smaller maze, which incorporates the Jersey Heritage logo–is designed for younger children and disabled access – and is themed around Jersey dolmens.

Living history characters from Jersey Heritage are appearing at aMaizin! Maze and AdventurePark throughout the Summer Three Militia Men will be appearing at the Maze this Saturday and a Jersey Heritage storyteller will be arriving on Thursday. Events are planned throughout the season.

Adrian Fisher Mazes have designed the Maze and the designers have created more than 500 mazes in 27 countries since they created the world’s first cornfield maze in 1991.
